Being the only child, I grew up getting undivided love and care from my parents and undergoing their strict guidance at the same time. I enjoyed the freedom to choose my own path, while being mindful of where the choice might lead to. It helped me develop a strong sense of morals, values, and responsibilities.
Though family gets a head-start teaching life-lessons, it can only go so far. Personally, I learned a great deal of things throughout the course of my academic life. Particularly, the training of physics encourages critical thinking and improves one’s analytical ability significantly. Because of that, I believe, I am able to put myself in other people’s shoes without much hurdle. Seeing and analyzing situations from other people’s perspectives helps building empathy, compassion, and humbleness. It also taught me to keep calm and not to lose my head under stressful situations.
Another source of my experiences that has influenced me considerably is the Community of Physics (CP), an organization that I co-founded in 2013. I see the organization as an opportunity to develop myself academically, professionally, and personally. The most important lesson I learned from CP is to plan before taking any step and to avoid rush decisions. Another important lesson I learned from it is to separate professional and personal spheres.
On a personal level, I am an animal lover and a cat person. I like to socialize and get engaged in long, deep conversations that would go for hours. The topic of the conversation might vary wildly, covering science, philosophy, society, or even viral cat videos.
