She passed HSC in 1991. After completing BSc (Hons) in Botany from Dhaka University she went to Japan with Minbashu Scholarship to undergo PhD Program. After achieving PhD she went to Canada and stayed there for few years. Once husband's extra marital relation was identified during their stay in Japan, he was warned. The same was identified in Canada also. Considering social values, she divorced her husband and returned back to Bangladesh and staying with her parents at Kustia.

Her father is an MBBS and retired govt servant. Her mother is a homemaker. She has 4 brothers and no other sister. Eldest brother is doing business Kustia, 2nd brother is a govt servant, 3rd brother is a PhD (Japan) and staying in California, USA; and the 4th brother is a defence officer. She is the youngest of all in the family.
